On June 29, 2018, the Rhodes and the Wallace’s took ownership of Dive World Austin.  We bought the store for a number of reasons – firstly, as longtime Austin residents, we want to play a bigger role in the community especially introducing young people into the sport through middle and high school outreach. We want to be able to educate Austinites on the issues we are facing with our oceans and waterways (ie: the Zebra mussel situation being one of those in Lake Travis). Also as Seth & Andy have both been in High Tech and large corporates all their lives, they wanted to experience the joys of small business ownership.

Andy and Lisa Rhodes moved to Austin 12 years ago from the UK. Andy works in the high-tech business and Lisa is a former elementary school teacher who now works with the Red Arena Equine organization here in town. Along with their two children, Sam (21) and Freya (18) they have dived in Cyprus, Egypt, Belize, Cayman Islands, and many parts of the US.

Seth and Traci Wallace have lived in Austin for 22 years. Seth works in high-tech and Traci does freelance writing and is active with the North Austin chapter of National Charity League. They have 4 children, Sammi (27), Van (24), Nathan (22), and Gabbi (16). Seth and the boys found their love for diving with the Boy Scouts at Sea Base, Florida. The girls got jealous and just had to get certified too. In July 2018, they went on their first family dive trip to Cozumel
