Fort Young
July 5 - 12, 2026
Most recently named a top destination to visit by Condé Nast Traveler, Dominica remains one of the few spots in the world unspoiled by the impacts of mass tourism. It offers an ethical, environmentally supportive option for travelers. Embraced by lush foliage and secluded beaches throughout, the island fosters one’s most dream-like fascinations. With world-class diving, whale watching and boundless wildlife among the Caribbean’s longest hiking trail and only natural World Heritage site, Dominica realizes adventurous living amidst untrammeled natural splendour. Meander the island’s thermal spas, 365 rivers, dramatic waterfalls, well-preserved colonial architecture and the last remaining home of the indigenous Kalinago peoples: all of this and much more can be experienced while staying at Fort Young.

The Diving
With rugged pinnacles, drop-offs, abyss depths, and vibrant marine life, the Caribbean’s “Nature Island” is a true paradise for divers. And of all diving operations in Dominica, Fort Young Hotel presents the ultimate underwater experience. The island has long been a treasured dive destination and Fort Young, with its prime location in the country’s capital city of Roseau along the shores of the Caribbean Sea, has played host to dive travelers from around the world for more than a decade.

Built within two separate but connected cells, which were once prison cells, the Rum & Wine Cellar will offer tastings of local rums and wines, along with the option to purchase other specialty rums and wines from the Caribbean and the world. This includes the hotel’s own ocean-aged rum, which is based on the local “BB Rum” — a unique blend from the extract of the bark of the Richeria-Grandis (locally called Bois Bande) and exotic Caribbean spices. Interestingly enough, this stimulating elixir is widely held for its aphrodisiac properties!
