Our open water courses offer a premier experience with classes capped at a maximum of SIX students, the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff/Instructors, and plenty of course options.
To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required!
What Will I Learn?
Learn the basic theories and best practices of scuba diving in a classroom session.
Jump in our heated, indoor pool to put theory into practice.
Head out to Lake Travis (15 mins away!) to complete your open water dives.
What is included?
Training Materials (Book/Touch Code, PADI log book, ERDPML/Computer Simulation Card, Student File Folder, PADI sticker, and Blue zipper pouch. Must have picked up and completed before the start of class)-
Dive World provides basic scuba equipment including a regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), weights, and scuba cylinders. Wetsuits, Hoods, and gloves are provided depending on the season and water temperature.
Entrance Fee to Windy Point Scuba Park; $15.00 per person, per day for the weekend of Open Water Certification Dives (2 days).
You need to provide your own mask (tempered glass), fins, boots, and snorkel. (10% student discount available in store!)

You’ll need to enroll at least one week prior to class. This will allow you adequate time to complete all training materials.
Dive World offers three-course options:
PADI eLearning: This option is completed in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace using study tools that integrate text, images, and video into interactive learning experiences through a mobile device, or computer. Following the completion of your eLearning, you can either attend a double weekend course, 4 days in a row course (please contact the store to register for one of these course options with PADI eLearning) or sign up online for our PADI eLearning schedule of Tuesday & Thursday evening 6 pm - 10pm confined water pool training, and Saturday & Sunday Open Water Certification dives (4 days total). ($450.00)

Traditional Open Water Course: This is a more traditional approach of conducting the development training in the dive center's classroom using hard copies of the training materials. Our weekend classes allow you to complete your scuba certification in two consecutive weekends. The first weekend (or two days if a weekday course) consists of classroom and pool instruction (8:00 AM- 6:00 PM). On the second weekend (or final two days if a weekday course), you head over to Lake Travis for your open water training dives (8:00 AM- 2:00 PM). ($399.99)

Private and Semi Private course options are available.

Private is $625, with your choice of learning type (Elearning or traditional book), a custom schedule, and one on one (or one professional to two students) ratio. Entrance fees, mask, snorkel, fins, and dive booties are not included in the course fee.
Semi-Private courses are $550, with choice of learning type (Elearning or traditional book), a custom schedule, and a private instructor for your group (3-5 individuals).
