Just finished your Open Water Course? Now you are ready to improve your skills!
Note: Make time for homework! Enroll at least one week prior to class. This will allow for adequate time to complete all training materials.
The Advanced Diver course is designed to build confidence and expand your scuba skills. Try different specialties (adventure dives) while gaining experience under the watchful eye of your instructor. You will log dives and develop skills as you explore new ways to have fun scuba diving.
Dive World Austin's Advanced Open Water course is different from all others in the region! Enjoy a premier experience by splitting your experience between shore and boat diving.
With the Advanced Open Water course, you can also start working your way towards Master Scuba Diver and earn credit for specialty certifications. Each Adventure Dive can credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a specialty diver course, ask your instructor if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive.
To enroll in a PADI Advanced Diver course (or Junior Advanced Diver), you must be 12 years old or older and have completed your open water certification.
Special pricing for Military, Scouts, First Responders available. Please contact the store staff at
Dive World Austin offers a traditional approach to the Advanced Diver course. We use hard copies of the training materials. On Saturday, Advanced Diver courses meet at Windy Point Scuba Park and on Sunday, they meet at The Giant Stride. We do ask that some flexibility be allowed in case of bad weather.
What will I learn?
The Advanced Open Water Course teaches Peak Performance Buoyancy, Navigation, and Search and Recovery on the first day of class at Windy Point Scuba Park.
